Final Contents Page

The only thing I edited on this was the column in which I wrote the competition. I changed the margin so it was set further away from the picture, so the word ‘with’ wasn’t set really far apart. I also changed it so it didn’t look like the writing was flowing off of the page. I thought about editing the contents themselves, by making them smaller but I decided to keep them the way they were. I thought by making them smaller it would make the contents page look smarter, but then I realised that it would make it look too empty and I wanted to keep it looking busy, as I want my magazine to look like it’s got lots going on. Even though I changed the lucida calligraphy font on the front cover of the magazine, I decided to keep it on the contents page because I think it’s got a flow with the rest of the page. I think even though it’s a ‘cheeky’ font it goes with the photo of Elise, as I think it’s a ‘cheeky’ photo. I also changed the writing a bit. I inserted the website in there rather than having the website written at the bottom of the photograph of Elise. I thought it looked tacky and out of place, so I embedded it in with the writing.
Final Front Cover

This is my final front cover. I’ve edited the subtitle font because I thought that the ‘lucida calligraphy’ looked too cheeky for a classical magazine and I think having this font makes it look more classy and I prefer having it in regular rather than italics. I changed the ‘out now’ to ‘free inside’ because I looked at other magazines on the internet and none of them were advertisments, they were showing the ‘free inside’ cd, which is what I changed mine to. I’m overly happy with my final design.

I did all of my text in Publisher and I used photoshop to edit the photos and the title and the swirls. I added the page numbers and I filled the white space with a banner and the page number to make it look like the text wasn’t flowing off of the page.
